Patrick Wainscott, Owner and Chief Investigator, retired from the Lima Police Department after 26 years of service. During his tenure he acted in the capacity as an investigator or supervisor of the Detective Division for nearly 11 years. He also conducted numerous investigations while working as a supervisor in the Internal Affairs Division. He has received an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences in Law Enforcement, and has attended many police training schools, including: Internal Affairs policy and procedures; John Reid's basic and advanced courses on interview and interrogation techniques; Glenn Foster's basic and advanced kinesic interview and interrogation techniques; Federal Money Laundering School in Washington, D.C.; Crime Scene Investigation and Evidence Gathering; Computerized Voice Stress Analyzer training school; and, many other police related or management courses. He attends an average of five professional training seminars per year related to the investigative and security industry.
Mr. Wainscott was the founder of the Midwest Association of Certified Voice Stress Analysts, Inc., a regional association for examiners that use the Computer Voice Stress Analyzer, a truth verification instrument. In 1994 there were nine charter members of the Midwest Association, and now there are over 250 examiners from law enforcement agencies in 16 states. Mr. Wainscott was elected President at the inception of the MACVSA, and held that position until November 1998. At that time he became the MACVSA's Chairman of the Board of Directors, which he still holds.
Mr.Wainscott was also instrumental in establishing the International Association of Certified Voice Stress Analysts, Inc. At their first meeting in Branson, Missouri, in August 1998, Mr.Wainscott was elected President by the representatives of each regional association. Mr. Wainscott still holds that position. It should be noted there are over 800 law enforcement agencies across the country that now utilize the CVSA for their truth verification needs, and the regional associations and the International Association represent their needs. Mr. Wainscott is also active in community events and a local service organization, the Lima Sertoma Club. He has held numerous offices in the Sertoma Club, including President and Chairman of the Board of Directors; and, is currently involved with a Sertoma program that distributes hearing aids to the needy.
